Zero Lunch Waste for back to school
Courtney Health
It is back to assembling lunches this month for the kids. Not only do we need to think about enticing foods that they will eat, but what are we going to pack it all in?
The goal is Zero Waste of course. How to Make School Lunches Green –

There are so many wonderful containers out there. Choose from the bento boxes where all foods are in one place or separate containers with lids. Even bring hot soups or leftovers in insulated stainless steel designed to keep it warm. Wash and reuse day after day.
Our EcoBagIt! Sandwich Bags are the perfect items to carry your sandwiches or wraps. When closed they stay fresh all day long.
The EcoBagIt! Snack Bags are great for the smaller chips, crackers, popcorn, or cut fruits and veggies. They wipe down easily and are ready to be used again.
Insulated drink bottles. Insulated is important so that it stays cold for lunch. I use the smaller sizes for lunch boxes and the bigger jugs for water bottles to keep on their desks throughout the day. Visit my favorites.
Bamboo or Stainless Steel Straws are a must. They come in kid-friendly case and you can take them with you wherever you go.
Silverware. My favorite is this spork, but I also like the cute plastic spoons the neighborhood ice cream store gives out with our order. Then it doesn’t matter if the kids lose it!
Don’t forget the Cloth Napkins for messy hands.
The whole meal goes into a cute Lunch Bag.
Tell the kids not to throw anything away – even leftover food. Then you can see how much they ate!
Back to School specials going on now! Hurry because sale ends August 19th.
